Myths of Gayland’s Superpowers:

  • Mythological heroes that ride unicorns and dress up ponies.
  • Empty house? We blink our eyes, and it’s decorated.
  • Ugly woman? Twirl with a hairbrush and eyeliner to make her beautiful.
  • Baking a cake is as easy as pie. We hold our arms and smirk and tada . . . A cakepie a la mode.
  • At a nightclub, we shake our booty and turn into Cher or Rachel Ray.
  • The other man. He shows up at our place after a fight with his wife, and we bob our head until he’s healed.
  • When we go to our gay monthly meeting on a full moon, we spend the night in each other’s arms.
  • Gaydar is a real thing; we have a secret handshake too.
  • As a community, we know who’s gay and who’s not in another part of the world.
  • Good taste is an ability we have since we came out of the cabbage patch.
  • Need money, or a place to stay? Our doors and pockets are always open.

These myths only the tip of the iceberg of what Gayland’s superpowers are. There are so many more powers that I can’t of right now. I’m sure if we turn on the TV or go outside and listen to what Earthlings are saying, we can find out what other superpowers we have.

The reality of LGBTQIA+ community

  • If you prick us, we will bleed.
  • When you hurt us, we will feel pain.
  • If you offend us, we will cry.
  • Kick us out of your life, and you will be lonely.
  • Hold us and love us and we will love you back.
  • If you kill us, we will die.
  • We were born from you. You did not pass this along to us.
  • You raised us; you did nothing wrong.
  • We are humans just like you.

No matter what we do or say. For some reason, we are still 3rd class citizens in our own eyes and the eyes of others. Let’s take a stand as tribal members of Gaylandia. Let’s boycott the world.

If I were a comic strip hero, I would be me. Andres Fragoso, Jr., a man, a person, a son, a brother, an uncle, and above all, A HUMAN, that loves and cares for everyone. I am not a Gayland, not a 3rd class citizen, not a disease, not a floor mat, nor an alien. I AM ME.
